Additionally, look back & think about where you have been and where you’re headed. Have your values changed, grown, matured? What’s important to you now? If they’re the still the same then you’re still in the same place…Food for thought! Think about it!
Omgosh don’t u feel old? Wow I wish I was 21 again…Seriously!!
I’m 23 today & I am soo loving all the birthday love but I’m actually amused by the “old” responses.
To be honest I am loving that I’m a year older, I have no desire to be 18,19,20,21 or 22 again…maaybe I’d love to be 6 yrs old again; cuz I was so cute BUT otherwise I am Living & Loving who I am & where I’m at right NOW!
I dunno about you guys but every year, month, week & day is my prime time. Where I’m at is where its at for me.
I’ve grown as a person & while I appreciate the great memories of yesterday I’m looking forward to Gods amazing promises in my life for tomorrow.
Maybe being the youngest of my siblings helps too, so I will always be the baby to someone :) BUT you gotta Love where you’re at and who you are right now…if you don’t, Change needs to take place! Perhaps having a mother who is absolutely gorgeous & ageless helps too :) but at the same time I’ve physically been in better shape than I am now lol & I’ve had a much cooler job than I have now but because I don’t live solely by those standards…I’m not looking back at my “prime time” because Prime Time is now! And seriously we’re really not that old (20+ peeps) Live & Love in the NOW!
Uggh Meh Blah - commonly used via bbm, text, FB or Twitter when we’re frustrated, exhausted or tired of doing whatever we’re doing at the moment. Then we wish we were doing something else then visit a la-la land of what we would do or how we would feel “if I was doing whatI wanted to do” or “if I had this job” or “if I lived here”…however the moment we slip into that place we miss out on the value of NOW. I got on a fortune cookie once “Success is in the Journey, not the destination”…yea yea its a fortune cookie but its true! I find the moment I get caught up in what I wish I could be doing instead I miss out on the little things that exist in the present…I call it Enjoying rather than Enduring, have you ever had a long day & watched the seconds go so slow you think its on purpose? But time flies by when you’re having fun right? *being super cliche 2day lol* BUT the moment you CHOOSE to ENJOY rather than ENDURE…the beauty is revealed in your circumstance. Sometimes these Mundane & Drab seasons serve a purpose; to give us some mental space to think or if its stressful & messy its serving the purpose of challenging us to step out of our comfort zone & develop new strengths. Perspective can change so much! The moment you change your perspective that’s when you’ve hit the Refresh button. Sometimes I have to hit the Refresh button several times a week or day haha but once I DECIDE to hit that Refresh button its like hitting reset on a Super Nintendo (ye I said it) and starting a new world on Super Mario…so its Thursday & we wish it was Friday but try hitting the Refresh button tomorrow & change your perspective and find joy in the present.
Earlier this year I read a book titled “The Maximized Life Journey” by Dr IV Hilliard. One of the first recommendations he gave was to have mentors in your life, whether professionally or spiritually. Mentors being people who have achieved goals similar to your current aspirations and/or people who are at points in their lives that you want to be at in the future.
I’ve always asked for advice from a variety of individuals and I’ve been fortunate enough to have spiritual mentors in my family. My family needs another post on its own! But I cannot begin to explain how much I’ve grown through the spiritual mentorship of my family members…I’m a lucky girl :) However having a Career Mentor just wasn’t something I really considered. Anywhoo I prayed about it and a couple months later I met someone who not only was successful in her field but she turned out to be an amazing person & friend, almost like another sister (I have 4 :P). Plus its extremely rare to find women in my industry who are genuine & compassionate in other words: Not Haters! Not only have we grown as friends but she’s also impacted my perspective on my goals/career in a huge way through simple bbm conversations. I am super thankful for her (I don’t even kno if she’s reading this! Lol) But if your in a place where you feel as if you’ve hit a plateau, or you’re not sure what the next step should be… It might be a good time to FIND a mentor or Pray (like I did :D) Even if you think you’re doing good or you got it all together, having a mentor is still important.
You gotta stay in a place of humility, always seek an opportunity to learn, you don’t know everything & you’ll never know everything! Egos only bring you down.
**MAKEUP TIP** now this one is old school!!! to make lashes appear full or lengthy, dust loose powder on lashes and apply your mascara! do this at least 3 times and watch them make your peepers say HELLO!!
